Understanding Taskhubb

How to get started on Taskhubb?

Welcome to Taskhubb! You've chosen the perfect, all-in-one, platform to get that to-do list to done.

How does Taskhubb work?
We are an online platform connecting two or more Users - the Poster (client) who posts tasks in need of completion, and the Tasker (freelancer) who earns money completing those tasks. Taskhubb supports freelancers and businesses of all kinds and the creation of contracts between the parties in order to reach the desired end goal. This means you have a secure means of posting and finding tasks, payment processing, and free dispute resolution.
Who can create an account?
Signing up is easy and free for everyone - but you must be 18 and over and have legal working rights in the United States, or country in which you reside.
How do I create an account?
Registration takes seconds - all you need is a name, username, email, and password. Simply visit the signup page to get started in seconds.
What do I need to get started?
Once signed up you can immediately start using the Taskhubb Marketplace, but you will be prompted to complete some of the verification badges needed in order to start working and posting tasks. Badges are not required but may be in order to perform some actions such as becoming verified, or making Offers.
What rules must I follow on Taskhubb?
Posters and Taskers have a set of Community Guidelines that are agreed to upon signing up. These guidelines are created inline with our Terms of Service, and are in place to provide safety and security while improving your experience.
Where can I go for help?
Taskhubb provides several ways of getting in touch with support; these includes live chat, FAQ, and email.
What is Taskhubb?

Taskhubb is a trusted Community Marketplace connecting people who need tasks completed, with those willing to complete those tasks accordingly.

No task is too large or too small. From simple to complex, Taskhubb is here to help - from AirBnB cleanings, Ikea Assemblies, and roadside assistance to grocery delivery, handyman work or even an addition to your home, we provide what's necessary tools to get it done.

Taskhubb is a Community Marketplace that is free to use

What type of tasks can I get done?

With Taskhubb, you can post from millions of jobs and outsource the work you can't, or just don't want to do. But, before posting something that requires a second thought, check your city, state, and the governing guidelines on the legalities of the task. Taskhubb's Community Guidelines prohibits escort and adult services, advertising, and alcohol related tasks (where alcohol-delivery is prohibited).

To create a safe and rewarding environment, users must follow the guidelines posted.

Can I communicate or work outside of Taskhubb?

Simply put, no. Posters and Taskers may only communicate and work through Taskhubb. Why?

Anything done outside of the platform can be difficult to prove. If the work is done on the platform we are able to understand the situation from beginning to end.

Therefore, any work done outside of the platform is not allowed. You will not be punished, but you will also not be able to open a dispute if we find proof that any work or communication was conducted outside of the platform.

As a way to imporove communication, you have the option turn on sms within your messenger and reply directly from your mobile device. You also have voice and video calling at you convenience.

Those who don't follow these guidelines must settle their dispute without the help of Taskhubb's resolution team. This can be done on or off the platform.

Who is a Poster?

A Poster is someone looking to get their tasks completed whether online or in person.

Creating a task is easy and free.

Once posted you will begin receiving Offers from interested Taskers. From there you can quickly view profiles and feedback of those you are interested in working with.

Upon selecting a qualified Tasker you will be prompted to place the funds into a secured Escrow Account until the task is marked as completed by the Poster and Tasker. You'll have the tools, such as private messaging (accompanied with optional sms), necessary to communicate the task efficiently without the use of another website or app.

Show others who you are using verification and license badges. These badges show that you have proven your identity and have a license to complete work in a particular area.

Who is a Tasker?

A Tasker is someone looking to complete tasks whether online or in person.

Finding tasks is easy and free. Simply search the available tasks in your area to start sending Offers.

Once signed up, you can begin making Offers. If an Offer is accepted you will be notified and can begin work on the day(s) listed. Keep in mind that you must have legal working rights in the United States, or the country in which you reside, and be ages 18 and over.

Funds will be held in a secure Escrow Account until the task is completed as described. You'll have the tools, such as private messaging (accompanied with optional sms), necessary to communicate the task efficiently without the use of another website or app.

Is Taskhubb available in my area?

Taskhubb is currently only available in the United States of America ("USA," "US," and "United States" are used interchangeably). If you live in another country you must follow the current laws and guidelines in the jurisdiction you are located.

You are only able to post tasks in the country you are located. If you are completing tasks, you must be located in the country you are completing the tasks, have local working rights, and be ages 18 and over.

No tasks in your area? You can choose to post your own tasks or wait for the demand to increase. In the meantime you can invite others in your area to view your bookings and create jobs.

What is an "Escrow Account?"

Being in escrow means you've entered a legally binding contractual agreement where the funds for the active date are held in a Third Party (Taskhubb) account on behalf of the Poster and Tasker until the task is completed.

Once complete, the funds are automatically dispersed to the respectively.

What is a "Beta Launch"?

This essentially means that the app is ready for use but is still needs work to improve your experience on the platform.

We ask that your report any errors, mispellings, and anything you feel does not belong here

When posting a task, be clear on the scope of work, time, and budget as this ensures the Tasker can assess their ability to complete the task properly and in a timely manner. Provide:

  • scope of work including clear milestones and deliverables with an end product in sight,
  • the time you expect the Tasker to arrive,
  • and a reasonable budget that can be adjusted before or after the task is started.

Not sure how much the task should cost? Once signed up you can quickly create a task and receive quotes in minutes.

How much should I list my task for?

When posting a task you must consider the amount of time it would take to complete and a fair hourly rate. We encourage Offers to be made at a fair market price so Offers may vary. You are encouraged to select the Tasker based on not only their Offer, but their profile rating, badges, and licenses. As the Poster ("client") you are responsible for choosing a reliable Tasker.

Work has started on the task - how do I cancel?

If a situation like this arises, we suggest that you discuss a partial payment with the Tasker. Once an agreement is made you may settle your agreement on the Platform.

If no agreement can be made both parties have the option of opening a dispute where Taskhubb Support will determine an outcome based on communication and the evidence presented.

Poster safety - After posting a task, what safety tips should be followed?

We, at Taskhubb, take your safety and security very serious. Building a trusted community where Users go to find and post tasks while creating a positive experience is a goal that we wish to maintain.

It's important to note that when accepting Offers or completing tasks, followed by a transaction, through Taskhubb you are initiating a contractual agreement between you, the Poster, and the Tasker. Being a reputation-based platform, there are several tools to utilize when you start receiving Offers and must choose a Tasker including, but not limited to, badges, licenses, reviews and a portfolio. We recommend Users follow our Community Guidelines in order to keep your account in good-standing.

If you feel uncomfortable at any time and in any situation you may contact us here for further assistance. Your questions and concerns remain confidential and are handled seriously. If you feel you may be in danger contact your local authorities immediately.

We've put a list of measures together to help ensure your safety on the Taskhubb Marketplace and make informed decisions.

After posting a task

When a task is posted it is made available to the public where it can be viewed by anyone on or off the Taskhubb Marketplace. It's important that you don't add any personal information such as phone numbers and addresses for your safety and security. This information will safely be available once the task is assigned.

Posters may contact their Tasker via private message for further communication.

Reviewing Offers

When reviewing Offers try to be as informative as possible when communicating with potential Taskers. Understanding exactly what must be done before starting the task gives the Tasker a better understanding of the scope of work essentially helping to avoid any cancellations and make appropriate Offers. Don't hesitate to inquire with the Tasker about their licences and qualifications before starting the task. You'll have the ability to communicate and discuss the task through our private messenger. If agreed to mutually and a bigger budget is needed, you can easily increase it by locating the task in your dashboard, select Job Details, then Increase Budget.

Budget decreases are currently unsupported. If you need to reduce the budget you may cancel the task and repost it. Communicate with your Tasker, if you have assigned one, throughout the process to avoid any confusion.

Before starting the task

When the Tasker shows up to complete the task don't be afraid to ask them to verify their insurance and identity card if necessary. Most trade related tasks require licenses, identification and insurance. You may request these documents via private messenger but they must be verified in person.

While the task is in progress

Releasing the payment before the task is complete is a big no no. Once the payment released you no longer have the ability to receive a refund or open a dispute. Checking the progress before, during, and after is essential to making sure that your requirements are met.

If you encounter a situation where the requirements listed in the original post aren't met, you must first try and sort it out with the Tasker. If it can't be sorted, you may contact us here or open a dispute (this cancels the post) for further assistance.

After the task is completed

When your Tasker clocks out after every task it's important to verify the work in person. You may request photos and other proof but it must be physically reviewed before releasing. If you can't check the work and you are sure that the task is complete you may release the payment at your own discretion. You'll have 48 hours to check the work before it's automatically released to the Tasker.

After checking that the work was completed as specified, you can then release the payment! The funds will be released and sent directly to the Tasker. Tipping is optional and Taskers receive 100% of the tip.

After the task is closed

There can be several reasons why a task is closed. These can include task completion, cancellation, dispute, or moderation.

If the task is completed you can let others know how your Tasker performed on the task by leaving them a review. It's important you remain professional and genuine.

If the task is cancelled you have the option to repost the same task or create a new one.

If the task is disputed both parties must find a mutual solution to solving their problem. If this can't be done either party may choose leave the final decision to Taskhubb Support.

If the task is moderated the hosting party may receive a notification or email explain why the content was removed.

Such activity is fraudulent and breaches our Terms & Conditions. In order to stay protected, we highly recommend that you don’t take tasks or payments outside of the platform. Offers promising cash payments to allegedly avoid fees are too good to be true; meaning they’re probably attempting to scam you. Tasks that are completed via the Taskhubb platform provide Users with a peace of mind. Users are provided with a secure payment system, a dispute resolution center, and an experienced support team. If someone promises you a cash payment, we advise you to decline and report the User or Users comment.

Poster safety - How do I know I can trust my Tasker?

We, at Taskhubb, value trust and safety. We acknowledge that for you it is important to feel confident and truly believe you’ve chosen the right person for the assigned task. We recommend following these tips and tricks to help you feel more secure.

1. Check for profile badges
We've created a number of optional badges that Users can apply for. These badges help to verify their identity and qualifications. If necessary, you must confirm the Users identity in person upon arrival.
  1. Identity badges: Shows that you've verified your identity and it matches your profile.
  2. Background check badge: If a User has this badge they have no disclosable court records (i.e. no criminal history) at this point in time.
  3. License badges: Shows that the Tasker has confirmed their qualifications under a trade. If they have this badge, they currently are licensed to perform work in that field. The license must be viewed again upon arrival for verification purposes.
2. Request an ID/license:
If a Tasker doesn’t have a Taskhubb badge it could be that their country of residence is not the United States; it doesn’t mean the Tasker is not genuine. We recommend requesting any documents prior to starting the task as a way of building trust before arriving. Use the private chat feature to communicate with your potential Tasker.
3. Conduct a local search:
If a Tasker mentions their business and how much experience they have, you should verify the business using a preferred search engine
4. Make sure the Tasker(s) you assign shows up:
The Tasker you assign must be the Tasker or business that completes the task. Please note that the Taskers insurance may not be covered if the Tasker assigned to complete a task doesn’t complete it or is not there. If someone else responds on behalf of the Tasker you chose kindly let them know that you’d rather discuss the details with the Tasker assigned to the task.
5. Be careful of the person helping your Tasker:
Taskers are allowed to bring other Taskers if help is needed on larger tasks, however, they must be registered with Taskhubb confirmed with you before arrival. You can ask from the beginning who will complete the task just to be sure all parties involved are on the same page.
Poster safety - How can I verify that someone is licensed?

The team at Taskhubb take the safety and security of our Users extremely serious. If your posted task demands a licensed tradesperson it is important to know that your chosen Tasker must have adequate qualifications.

Official badges are currently only available in the United States; their purpose is to verify that a Tasker is licensed to work in the United States under a judicial form (e.g. as a company). If your Tasker doesn’t live in the US, they may not have a badge on their profile.

The Taskhubb badge service is only available for US citizens only; for now. It's best to verify any licenses before hiring, or arriving to the task site via private chat.

If you want to verify the license yourself you may do so by running their business or license number in your states registry.

Tasker safety - After being assigned to a task, what safety tips should be followed?

We, at Taskhubb, take your safety and security very serious. Building a trusted community where Users go to find and post tasks while creating positive experience is a goal we wish to maintain.

It's important to note that when accepting Offers or completing tasks, followed by a transaction, through Taskhubb you are initiating a contractual agreement between you, the Tasker, and the Poster. Being a reputation-based platform, there are several tools to utilize when you start making Offers and must choose the right task including, but not limited to, badges, licenses, reviews and a portfolio.

Inquiring on a task

When a task is posted it is made available to the public where it can be viewed by anyone on or off the Taskhubb Marketplace. It's important that you don't add any personal information such as phone numbers and addresses for your safety and security. This information will safely be available once the task is assigned.

Taskers may contact their Poser via private message for further communication.

Making Offers

When making Offers try to be as informative as possible communicating with potential Posters. Understanding exactly what must be done before starting the task gives you, the Tasker, a better understanding of the scope of work essentially helping to avoid any cancellations and make appropriate Offers. You may be asked to verify licences and qualifications before starting the task. You'll have the ability to communicate and discuss the task through our private messenger. If agreed to mutually and a bigger budget is needed, you can easily request an increase by contacting the Poster with specific details on why it is needed. You may have to provide receipts if necessary.

Verify that you would like to work with the Poster by viewing their profile. It contains information such as their reviews and verification badges.

Budget decreases are currently unsupported. If you need to reduce the budget you may cancel the task and repost it. Communicate with your Tasker, if you have assigned one, throughout the process to avoid any confusion.

Before starting the task

When you show up to complete the project you may be asked to verify your insurance and identity if necessary. Most trade related tasks require licenses, identification and insurance. These documents may be requested by the Poster via private messenger but they must be verified in person.

While the task is in progress

Requesting that that the Poster releases payment before the task is complete is a big no no. This may limit your ability to make Offers as it goes against our Community Guidelines. The Poster has the right to check the progress before, during, and after to making sure that their requirements are met.

If you encounter a situation where you can't fulfill the requirements listed in the original post, you must first try and sort it out with the Poster. If it can't be sorted, you may contact us here or open a dispute (this cancels the post) for further assistance.

After the task is completed

After you clock out of every task it's important to check in with your Poster and give them time to verify the work done.

After checking that the work was completed as specified, the Poster will release the payment or it will automatically be released within 48 hours and sent to the Tasker(s) assigned. If the Poster chooses to tip, you'll receive 100%.

Tasker safety - How do I know I can trust my Poster?

We, at Taskhubb, value trust and safety. We acknowledge that for you it is important to feel confident and truly believe in the person who assigned you the task. We recommend following these tips and tricks to help you feel more secure.

1. Check for profile badges
We've created a number of optional badges that Users can apply for. These badges help to verify their identity and qualifications. If necessary, you must provide proof of the Users identity in person upon arrival.

We recommend that when requesting to see an ID prior to starting the task, that you provide your ID and other documents as it will help to build trust. Use the private chat feature to communicate with your Poster.
3. Request task or event information beforehand:
It's helpful for you, as a Tasker, to know what and who to expect when arriving to the task site. This could ultimately affect your ability to complete the task. If the task description doesn't provide enough relevant information you may request more. You should know information including, but not limited to, working alongside someone else, how many workers will be on site and the amount of guests to arrive. For example, when hired to set up an event and stay for 3 hours, you should know how many other staff Users you'll be working with.
Dispute Resolution - What tips should I follow when I have an issue with my task

With Taskhubb, tasks are mostly completed without incident. But, sometimes things can become more complicated than expected. It's vital that both the Poster and Tasker are on the same page and expect the same results in order to help solve the situation in a timely manner.

Taskhubb Offers free dispute resolution in those unavoidable situations. It's imperative that both the Poster and Tasker try to settle their differences before opening a dispute as the decision will no longer remain in either partys' hands. The decision will be left to our resolution team.

Follow the tips below if you feel you are having trouble with someone in the task.

Communication

To avoid communication breakdown, Users must remain open about any questions and concerns. Remain clear, practical and honest when communicating.

Do's:
  • Openly communicating your concerns usually solves any issues or misinformation; that's why it is important to be clear when doing so. You should always double check any details you are unclear of.
  • Mind your tone - be aware that your tone matters and things may come across differently than originally intended.
  • Reply quickly - your response time matters, as this lowers tension.
  • Express concerns - be open if you feel the task isn't going as planned. Discussing this with the other party eliminates any confusion later.
  • Tasks and communication must remain on the Taskhubb platform.
  • If a mistake is made be upfront and honest about it so things can move forward.
  • If the situation gets out of your control communicate it with support where the situation can be communicated on both parties' behalf.
Dont's:
  • Respond to messages slowly - waiting too long to respond can cause the other party to assume you may not want to continue and cancel.
  • Be crude or bad-mannered - lousy behavior during tasks or when private messaging is frowned upon and may lead to account limitations.
  • Take feedback poorly - feedback should be taken lightly using that experience as a reference to future tasks.
Payments

Payments are usually the first of any concern when things aren't going as planned on a task. The benefit to using Taskhubb is a secured payment system. Payments are held in a Escrow Account until tasks are completed successfully, so if things get out of hand, we can help to mediate.

Do's:
  • Tasks and communication must remain on the Taskhubb platform.
  • Respect other peoples situation - Posters should think of the time and expenses that go into a task, and Taskers should provide detailed Offers with expenses included.
  • Suggest payment changes if the scope of work does too.
Dont's:
  • Negotiate payments outside of the Taskhubb platform.
  • Cancel a task in favor of a cash payment. You lose the benefits of the Taskhubb payment system and risk limiting your account permanently.
A tip for Taskers - Fulfill the task to the best of your ability

We encourage Users to take photos and provide detailed descriptions, but unfortunately sometimes a task isn't always as described. If you feel confident enough to complete the task, you may so choose and you are encouraged to do your best to complete it properly.

Do's:
  • Complete the task as specified and to the best of your ability.
  • If the scope of work changes be sure to send the changes via private messenger where you can also discuss budget changes.
  • Collect as much evidence as possible (e.g. take photos).
Dont's:
  • Complete tasks in which you don't feel safe and are not qualified to do.
  • Complete tasks that you are not hired for - if additional work is needed the budget may be increased, a new date may be added, or a new post can be created in seconds.

Effectively communicating all questions and concerns in a timely manner can quickly resolve any issues with other Users.

Being in a dispute is stressful. We trust that these tips are helpful enough to solve any situation encountered and come to an agreement.

If you've tried these tips and no agreement can be made you may decide to open a dispute where Taskhubb support can mediate. Read Taskhubb's dispute process for more information.

Dispute Resolution - What is Taskhubb's dispute process

Tasks can sometimes become more complicated than initially anticipated. Disputes generally occur between Users when there is miscommunication or things don't go as planned.

Considering all of the above mentioned conditions have been met, the task is entitled to dispute assistance from the Taskhubb support system. The process has been detailed below.

Stage 1: Negotiations

Being in a dispute with a User can be stressful and we totally understand that. Both parties expect a fair payment based on their expectations and the work done on the task. Taskhubb dispute and all other services (besides a commission) are free of charge as a way to help grow relationships within in the community without unnecessary fees. It's also a way of helping you to negotiate more effectively and resolve issues on your own.

  • Uncooperative conduct throughout the dispute process

Should you adopt any of the above behaviors, regardless of the nature of the dispute, we reserve the right to stop any relationship with you and direct the payment to the other party. This is done as a way to encourage productive behavior and common decency as it is the foundation on which Taskhubb was developed. Mutual respect renders the best results in any situation. Let’s work together to reach common ground and provide an outcome that is fair and equal for the rightful parties involved.

How do reviews on Taskhubb work?

If everything went great on the project let others know! If, unfortunately, it didn't fair as well, be constructive and considerate so that the User knows what to do better the next time around.

Is there a difference in star ratings and job success?

Reviews, star ratings and job success are ways of measuring your performance within the community.

Star ratings & reviews:
Reviews consist of a star rating and a comment. The star rating is out of 5 and usually determines the comments that follow. Together, these should represent the experience you had throughout the task and whether you'd recommend this Users or not.
Job success:
An indicator showing the percent of tasks completed successfully. The percentage increases and decreases based on the number of tasks you've cancelled.

These should all be looked at before working with someone. It gives you an idea of what to possibly expect when posting or working on tasks.

What is job success?

Job success measures your reliability and commitment to tasks.

The higher your rating the more reliable you are considered to be. High ratings help to build trust and a reputation within the community and will ultimately help you to earn the most tasks.

Those with lower ratings cancel tasks more often than others. This ultimately makes it harder to assign and get assigned to a task.

Having low job success provides a negative experience for everyone involved and goes against the guidelines set in place. This will affect your account resulting in limitations or restrictions.

How is job success measured?

Job success is the number of assigned tasks divided by the number of completed tasks.

If you're a Poster, your job success is measured by the total number of tasks you've assigned by the ones you've cancelled. Tasker ratings are measured by the total number of tasks assigned by the onces cancelled.

Your job success is only affected if you are the reason for the cancellation. This is why it is important to choose the correct reasoning for your cancellation.

Where do I find my job success?

Your job success is visible from your public profile. It's available to public when reviewing profiles and making Offers.

What happens if my job success is too low?

Consistently having low job success means you're constantly cancelling tasks essentially creating a negative experience for everyone involved. This will put you at risk of have your account limited or restricted.

Insurance

Does Taskhubb provide insurance to Posters and Taskers?

In order to maintain the Taskhubb Marketplace we must charge a commission fee. The commission fee is applied to the end of every task that is completed successfully. All other features and options on the Marketplace are free and will remain free. By providing the features and low commission rates that we do we can continue to build the Marketplace and pay our staff.

Unfortunately with the low commission rates set in place, we can't provide insurance. Posters and Taskers on the Taskhubb Marketplace are independent and simply come to post and find tasks. We don't intervene unless there are questions or a dispute so if you are independent and use the Taskhubb Marketplace you are considered to be truly independent (this includes decisions about insurance).

As a Poster and Tasker you should obtain insurance from the company of your choice and state that in the description of your profile. You may be asked to confirm this upon arrival to the task.
